Mohawk hairstyle and friendly, wide smile are the characteristics of the Cog. It is the winner of the competition for mascot concept of the Silesian University of Technology. It was chosen from almost 100 works. The author of the best project is Łukasz Pawlak. The second was Droni by Dorota Sosnówka, and the third was Politechnik – by Marta Radziewicz-Winnicka.

The works were evaluated by four criteria: readability of the message, innovativeness and ingenuity, aesthetic values and promotional potential. There were attractive cash prizes to win. The author of the winning work receives 3 thousand PLN, the second place winner – 1.5 thousand PLN and the third – PLN 500.

The aim of the competition was to choose the concept of the mascot and its name. The mascot is intended primarily to reflect the activities of the Silesian University of Technology, to arouse positive associations and promote the values of the university.
