Competition for international research projects on antibiotic resistance

The National Science Centre, in collaboration with the JPIAMR network, has announced a competition for international research projects in the field of antibiotic resistance entitled ‘Interventions Moving Forward to Promote Antibiotic Resistance’. “Interventions Moving forward to Promote ACTion to counteract the emergence and spread of bacterial and fungal resistance and to improve treatments” (IMPACT). The estimated budget for the competition is approximately €20 million. Polish scientists can apply for funding of €500,000.

The main objective of the competition is to take action against the growing global threat related to the spread of antimicrobial (antibacterial and antifungal) resistance. 

The competition is open to international consortia of at least three research teams from at least three participating countries. At least two teams must come from EU member states or associated countries.

Organisations from 19 countries are participating in the competition: Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
