The Institute of Polish Philology at the Maria Curie Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, the UMCS Student Ethnolinguists Scientific Club, the UMCS Academic Culture Center “Chatka Żaka”, “Folk Writing” and the Association of Folk Animators are organizing a national scientific conference entitled “Folklore in art, music, literature and theater.”
The event will take place on November 29, 2019 at the UMCS Academic Culture Center “Chatka Żaka” and will be part of the XXIX International Folk Music Festival “Mikołajki Folkowe”.
During the conference, participants will discuss the following topics: the genesis and manifestations of folk art in music, art, literature and theater; folk artistic style; folk art yesterday and today: between folklore, folklorism and folk; art in the service of the “people” – folk art, folk groups, socialist realism; folk inspirations in contemporary art – ethno-design, folk music, ethno- movement; peasant literature and literature about the peasantry and the folk vision of the world in art.
