Scientists to receive almost 16 million PLN in competitions of the National Program for the Development of the Humanities

Almost 16 million PLN will be awarded to the winners of the competitions within the modules ‘National Heritage’ and ‘Universalia’ of the National Program for the Development of Humanities. The winners were selected from nearly 200 applications.

In total, 135 applications were submitted to the ‘National Heritage’ competition II / 2018. Based on the recommendations of the Council of the National Program for the Development of the Humanities, the Minister of Science and Higher Education qualified for financing the 15 best rated projects for a total amount of PLN 13.9 million. The biggest sum, PLN 1.74 million is received by the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the project “Cartography serving the reforms of the Stanisławs’ era – a critical study”, “Geographical and statistical description of the parishes of the Kingdom of Poland” and “Maps of the crown provinces of Charles Perthées”.

57 applications were submitted to the Universalia 2.2 II / 2018 competition. Nine projects received financing for a total amount of almost PLN 2 million. The highest funding was awarded to the University of Warsaw for the “Damage and Sacrum” project (PLN 435.3 thousand).
