The University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn hosted the Conference of Deans of Faculties of Natural Sciences at Polish Universities. The deans discussed issues related to education and evaluation.
The Conference of Deans of Faculties of Natural Sciences at Polish Universities was held on 17 and 18 November. It was organised by the UWM Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. Fifty people from about 20 faculties participated in the deliberations. The main aim of the conference was to exchange scientific and didactic experiences between representatives of natural science faculties of universities from all over the country, to establish a common strategy of action, and to strengthen contacts.
The invited guests included Professor Grzegorz Węgrzyn, corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and chairman of the Council for Scientific Excellence. He addressed issues related to the valorisation of scientific units in the context of promotion proceedings.
