The Department of Literature and Culture of the Second Half of the XIX Century of the Institute of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw invites to the conference “Dislocations. Literature and culture of the 1860s between politics and privacy.”
From 5 to 7 March 2018, scientists from all over Poland will present presentations with issues elaborating on the conference topics . Professor Grażyna Borkowska from the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences will read on “Reading the map: Lithuania. Orzeszkowa and her cycle Znad Niemna “, Dr Iwona Węgrzyn from the Jagiellonian University will reflect on the topic “Galician Lesson of 1863” and Professor Tomasz Sobieraj will give a speech “Between the private and the public. Models of novels in Polish literary criticism of the 1860s. ”
The conference will take place in the Ballroom of the Tyszkiewicz-Potocki Palace in Warsaw at ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 32.
