Conference on the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Accession Treaty at Collegium Polonicum in Słubice

Adam Mickiewicz University (UAM) in Poznań and Collegium Polonicum in Słubice are inviting participants to a scientific conference on 12 May ‘Poland in the European Union. Results and scenarios for the future from the perspective of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Accession Treaty”. The event will be attended by the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Prof. Tomasz Grodzki, who has assumed honorary patronage of the conference.

The meeting will attempt to evaluate the results of Poland’s accession to the European Union in 2004. The occasion for the debate will be the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Accession Treaty on 16 April 2003 in Athens.

The conference will be attended by current and former politicians who played important roles in the accession process, including former Prime Ministers of the Republic of Poland – Prof. Hanna Suchocka, Leszek Miller and Jan Krzysztof Bielecki. There will also be scientists, politicians, local government activists, journalists and others interested in European integration.
