On June 1, the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Antibiotics institutes belonging to the Research Network Łukasiewicz were incorporated into the Institute of Industrial Chemistry. The merger will strengthen Łukasiewicz’s pharmaceutical and chemical competences and positively will influence on the implementation of interdisciplinary development projects strategic for the Polish economy.

The merger is a part of the constructing a unique and complete business offer of the Łukasiewicz’s Network. Pharmaceutical and chemical competences as well as research infrastructure gathered within one institute will allow to respond effectively to the needs of the industry, in particular chemical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, energy and food sectors – says Piotr Dardziński, president of the Łukasiewicz Research Network.

As a result of the consolidation, the Łukasiewicz Institute of Industrial Chemistry will employ nearly 400 employees including 200 researchers.
