The signing the Constitution for Science by the the President of Poland completed almost three years of work on the Act. The whole academic community, including students, participated in these works. – We want students, as well as other groups of the academic community, to continue to be the partners of the Ministry in implementing the reform – said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin during the 5th Conference of Experts on Rights of the Student, which took place in Warsaw.

As emphasized the Minister of Science and Higher Education, higher education institutions for the first time in history will be penalized financially for failing to keep agreements with students.

The provision prohibiting raising the fees during the studies was present also in the old law, however, no sanctions were imposed on the university that would not keep the promises. Now we are changing it, and the protection of students will be real, – added Gowin.
