The Naval Academy in Gdynia signed a letter of intent on cooperation with Zakłady Mechaniczne “Tarnów” S. A. The document concerns cooperation in the development and implementation of a new generation of materials for applications in the armaments and shipbuilding industries.
As a result of joint research, new effective technologies for the production of composite materials will be developed. It will be accompanied by searching for materials with unique properties, in particular resistant to piercing and with good corrosion resistance.
The signatories of the letter have already cooperated within the framework of the Scientific and Industrial Consortium. Together with the Military University of Technology in Warsaw and PIT-RADWAR SA, they created the first Polish autonomous ship’s weapon system to combat airborne, surface and shore objectives – OSU 35. The consortium received the prestigious award of the Polish defense industry 2018.
