International award for students-geologists from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań

The Student Circle of the American Society of Petrol Geologists at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań received the international Outstanding European Student Chapter Award given by the Europe Region Office of the AAPG (American Association of Petroleum Geologists).

AAPG is the largest organization in the world associating specialists in the field of geology – scientists, employees of companies exploring and exploiting mineral resources, students and enthusiasts. Despite the name, AAPG is a global institution. It has almost 40,000 members in one hundred countries around the world.

AAPG provides for university-level education and grants for outstanding students. It organizes co-financing for extracurricular knowledge acquisition and global competitions in earth sciences. This is facilitated by a network of around 300 student circles around the world – including 30 circles in Europe.
