Representatives of the Uzbek State Medical University and the Multidisciplinary Medical Centre in Samarkand hosted the Silesian Medical University (SUM) in Katowice and visited the university’s clinical hospitals.
“Our meeting was a unique opportunity to directly exchange experiences, strengthen ties and jointly discuss further areas of cooperation between our universities. At the same time, I hope that your visit will have an inspiring effect on further initiatives taken in the interest and for the benefit of both universities”, said Professor Tomasz Szczepański, rector of SUM.
As part of the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two sides were discussed, which will include internships and short educational courses. An important aspect will also be to allow Polish specialists to make visits to Samarkand. Cooperation for the active development of health care in Samarkand was also discussed”.
