The Council of Scientific Excellence granted the University of Opole the right to give the title of habilitated doctor in the Legal Science, within Social Sciences. The procedure for obtaining the qualifications lasted less than a year, but this success was a result of many years of University of Opole work.

Obtaining by the University of Opole the rights to give the title of habilitated doctor in the field of legal sciences is another step in the development of this discipline. The team of the Faculty of Law and Administration and the Institute of Legal Sciences have been consistently enhancing its staff for several years and has become renowned in various research fields.

In line with the strategy of the department and institute, the research has focused on three axes related to the existing research teams: the UNESCO Chair of Cultural Heritage Law, the Law & Religion Team, and the Center for Legal Problems of Technology and New Technologies.
