Council of the University of Warsaw looking for candidates for the position of rector

Until January 31, 2020, the Council of the University of Warsaw (UW) is accepting the applications from candidates for the UW rector position.

The Council of the University of Warsaw pointed out that a candidate for rector of the largest Polish university should be a person who:
• meets the formal requirements set out in § 30 of the UW Statute,
• has proven scientific achievements at a high scientific level,
• has documented achievements as a leader and in the manager of institutions with academic or research profiles,
• knows the current strategic and operational issues related to management of the University of Warsaw;
• knows the science and higher education system in Poland;
• has a strategic vision for the development of the University of Warsaw;
• is fluent in Polish and English.
Pursuant to legal regulations and the University of Warsaw Statute, candidates for rector proposed by the University Council and the Electoral College will be reviewed by the University of Warsaw Senate. Then the Electoral College will select the rector from the selected candidates.
