Only until July 31, 2019, Poles can send ideas for naming an extrasolar planet and its star. Th right is granted to Poland by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) as part of the IAU100 NameExoWorlds competition. The national part of the global competition is run by the Polish Astronomical Society (PTA).
Everybody has the right to submit their idea, both individually and institutionally (schools, organizations, institutions, clubs or other entities). Applications are accepted via the form on the competition website: www.iau100.pl/planety. Along with the names for the star and for the planet, please send a short justification of the idea.
The global IEU100 contest NameExoWorlds was launched on June 6, 2019. Under this program, each country was given the right to name one of the extrasolar planets and its star.
