In connection with the current epidemiological situation in Poland and the rapidly increasing number of SARS-CoV-2 infections, I kindly inform you that in my opinion there is a possibility for medical students, on a voluntary basis, to support the activities of sanitary and epidemiological services in the fight against coronavirus – wrote in a letter to the rectors of medical universities, the secretary of state in the department of science Prof. Wojciech Maksymowicz.

The deputy minister of science asked to inform the senior students of medicine, pharmacy, medical analytics, nursing and emergency medicine about the possibility for them to support the activities of the relevant sanitary and epidemiological services.

These students are already prepared to take supportive actions, e.g. in an epidemiological interview, which is conducted by telephone and allows to collect information from the patient – wrote Deputy Minister Maksymowicz.
