Deputy Prime Minister Gowin talks about a new academic evaluation at the Warsaw University

25.07.2018

The new academic evaluation will no longer compare faculties with often incomparable profiles, but it will be carried out within science disciplines of the universities. Therefore, it will be much more fair and reliable than the present one – said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin during a meeting with the academic community at the University of Warsaw.

According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, it was another meeting devoted to the new principles of evaluation. At the meeting in Warsaw the Ministry of Science was presented by Piotr Müller, deputy Minister and Aleksander Dańda, director of the Department of Science.

As emphasized Deputy Minister Piotr Müller, the Ministry of Science puts quality first in the new evaluation principles.
– We assume that an academic teacher employed on a research or teaching position will be required to submit within 4 years minimum 4 of their most important scientific achievements. We prefer 4 good articles than 20 weak ones – added Müller.
