The LEM Wrocław team from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology took fifth place at the Moto Engineering Italy competition in Imola, Italy. The young constructors won in two categories and recorded the best lap during a race held in a torrential downpour.
Moto Engineering Italy is a motorbike competition for university teams from around the world who construct their own electric constructions and then compete with them on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola circuit. Ten teams from Portugal, Hungary, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy and Poland competed for podium places in this year’s competition.
Ahead of the competition in Italy, the students created a completely new battery with a more efficient cell connection system and the ability to cool faster, and re-controlled the motorbike’s engine. The front suspension was also upgraded, improving steering.
Now the team is preparing to take part in its most important event – the MotoStudent competition in Spain.
