Joanna Doskocz and Paweł Holewa from the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology at the Wrocław University of Technology have become the laureates of the “Diamond Grant” competition organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Joanna Doskocz was awarded for the project “Determination of the influence of the size of lipid aggregates on their mechanical and electrostatic properties”. The student received over PLN 216 thousand for her research. Paweł Holewa received nearly 220,000 PLN for the project “Studying optical properties of epitaxial quantum dots with InAs / InPs with reduced surface density for applications in fiber-optic quantum communication”.

In this year’s competition, 80 students representing three areas of sciences – humanities and social, natural and medical as well as strict and technical were awarded. The winners were selected from 214 applicants. More than 16 million PLN was allocated to conduct their research.
