Scientists from the Gorzów Wielkopolski Academy embedded the first spatial graphene structures. Gorzów scientists have obtained them from rapeseed oil.
The process is created in an oil precursor. Graphite electrodes submerged under the surface of the oil are brought to the distance of ignition of the electric hatch. Then the electrodes slide apart and spatial structures are obtained.
Until now, studies on the deposition of the first spatial graphene structures have been carried out with expensive and time-consuming methods. This time they were obtained from rapeseed oil, which can be of great importance for the development of pharmaceuticals. The discovered type of graphene can be a carrier for anti-cancer drugs without harmful side effects, it can be used to build very efficient electric cells and to construct a filter for sea water.
