The chapter of the “Populariser of Science” competition awarded a special distinction to Aleksander K. Smakosz – a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy, a doctoral student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Biology and Biotechnology at the Medical University of Wrocław. The young scientist was awarded for disseminating knowledge in the field of pharmacy and medicine.

In addition to participating in scientific conferences and popular science events, the distinguished doctoral student from the Wrocław university runs the gulosus.pl blog and the Pharmacopola portal and publishing house. He is also active on Instagram, where he has appeared as alexander_gulosus for several years. 

The jury recognised him for his “book writing and online activities related to the popularisation of knowledge on the history of science, plant toxicology, culinary history, phytochemistry, herbal medicine and pharmacology”.

“‘Populariser of Science’ is a competition organised by the Science in Poland website, whose publisher is the Polish Press Agency Foundation.
