Dr Dariusz Karaś from the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Social and Economic Faculty of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw will implement a project called “Identifying the development of consumer ethnocentrism during a pandemic”. The purpose of the research is to verify whether the current pandemic situation, which resulted in the so-called economic lockdown, affects consumer attitudes manifested by an increase in the level of ethnocentrism.
He received funding in the amount of PLN 49,500 for his research under the Miniatura 5 competition organized by the National Science Center.
Within the project, a scientist from the UKSW will verify whether the generation of specific emotional messages prompts consumers to support the domestic economy. The research will include the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, Western and Southern Europe.
