Dr Eng. Wojciech Kamieniecki was appointed the director of the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Pursuant to the Act on the National Center for Research and Development, the new director was selected through a competition. The term of office of the NCBR director is four years.

– Dr Wojciech Kamieniecki will be the NCBR Director in a unique period: closing the current budget perspective of the European Union and developing new European mechanisms for financing research and development. This is a big challenge, but also a chance that under his leadership, NCBR becomes a key subject combining science and business, actively influencing the formation of innovation policy not only in Poland but also in Europe in the next years – said Jarosław Gowin, deputy prime minister and minister of science and education higher.
