Dr Jakub Nowak from the Maria Curie Skłodowska University wins the main media prize

Dr Jakub Nowak from the journalism department at the Faculty of Political Science at the Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin won the first “Media and Democracy Karol Jakubowicz Award”. The competition is organized by the Polish Society of Social Communication. The scientist was awarded for the monograph of “Popculture network policy” – says Katarzyna Kozielewicz from the university’s press office.

In the awarded monograph, the author deals with the problems of visibility of online content and political mechanisms of its broadcasting, new patterns of civic activity and the political status of so-called digital intermediaries.

In the first competition, Dr Maria Nowina-Konopka from the Jagiellonian University was awarded for the monograph “Infomorphosis: Information management in new media”.
The celebration of the “Media and Democracy Karol Jakubowicz Award” will take place during the Congress of the European Media Management Association – June 15 at 11:30 in the University Library in Warsaw.
