Dr Krzysztof Szerenos receives the Medal of a Young Scientist

Dr Krzysztof Szerenos, a graduate of the Faculty of Physics at the University of Bialystok, was awarded the Medal of a Young Scientist awarded by the Warsaw University of Technology.

The young scientist received this distinction for his participation in the discovery of a new method of ultrafast photomagnetic recording. A breakthrough discovery was made at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Bialystok by a team of researchers led by Prof. Andrzej Stupakiewicz, and the results were published in January 2017 in the prestigious journal “Nature”.

The Medal of the Young Scientist, established by the Warsaw University of Technology in 2007, is awarded for outstanding and recognized achievements in the field of science and technical innovation and other outstanding creative achievements. The distinction is to promote the achievements of young scientists characterized by the independence of creative concepts and the special dynamics of development. The medal is awarded to persons who have not exceeded 35 years of age.
