Dr Tomasz Prószyński of the Łukasiewicz – Polish Center for Technology Development is one of the winners of the Jerzy Konorski Prize for the best publication in the field of neurobiology. The prestigious prize is awarded by the Polish Society for the Study of the Nervous System and the Committee of Neurobiology of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Every year, the award commemorating the outstanding Polish neurophysiologist is received by the authors of the best research paper, which makes a significant contribution to the development of neurobiology and has been published in leading world scientific journals.

Dr Tomasz Prószyński is the head of the Synaptogenesis Research Team, where he conducts research on the understanding of the molecular machinery regulating the formation of neuromuscular synapses. Thanks to their proper functioning, information from the nervous system is transmitted to skeletal muscles, enabling them to contract, and thus control limb movements and breathing.
