eDWIN project wins the Polish Intelligent Development Award

12.10.2021

The eDWIN project, implemented by a consortium with the participation of the Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC), won the Polish Intelligent Development Award in the category of “Innovative digitization and sharing of data”.

The aim of the project “Internet Platform of Consulting and Decision Support in Integrated Plant Protection” (eDWIN) is to create a national IT system for plant protection, which is to positively affect the quality of food produced in Poland.

The project involves PSNC and all provincial agricultural advisory centers, the Institute of Plant Protection and the National Research Institute and the Agricultural Advisory Center in Brwinów.

The implementation of the project involves the construction of a network of almost 600 meteorological stations. The data from the station will allow for the preparation of an agrometeorological commentary specifically for a given crop allowing the farmers to decide, for example, on the date of sowing a particular plant.
