18.03.2020

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education reminds that all university activities must be adapted to current sanitary and epidemiological requirements resulting from the state of epidemic threat introduced in the country and this also applies to the choices of the university authorities.

While making decisions, university authorities should take into account the ban on gatherings of more than 50 people. The Ministry of Science points out that the university elections must respect basic principles:

– elections should be held in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science and other legal provisions;

– it is necessary to comply with the condition of participation in the elections of electors of all groups, including students, which may prove particularly difficult in the event of suspension of the teaching activities of the university;

– it is permissible to organize elections on-line, if it is provided for in the university statute or election regulations, and the university has the resources and safeguards to carry out this process in an efficient and fully secure manner.
The university authorities also have the right to decide to postpone the election date.
