The rector of the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow, Prof. Jacek Popiel, and the directors of the university hospitals, Dr Wojciech Cyrul, Prof. UJ and Marcin Jędrychowski, signed a letter of intent to establish a University Centre for Robotic Medicine in Krakow.

As highlighted in the letter of intent, there has been a dynamic development of highly specialised solutions in the field of medical robotics over the past few years, and the experience to date shows a number of benefits of using robotics to treat patients effectively. Treatments using these technologies are widely recognised as safe and recommended for an increasingly wide range of indications.

The UJ and the University Children’s Hospital in Krakow and the University Hospital in Krakow recognise the need to educate those preparing to practise medicine using the latest technologies.

Thanks to the cooperation of a university with significant scientific potential with multi-specialist medical institutions, it will be possible to achieve the best results from the implementation of robotics in patient treatment.
