The European Union Contest for Young Scientists will take place in September 2024 in Katowice, Poland. The competition will be part of the European City of Science celebrations. The consortium organising the event includes the Silesian University of Technology.

The competition is the largest and most important event of its kind presenting student research papers. Works in the fields of science, natural sciences, technology, social sciences and economics can be submitted. Its primary aims are to encourage young people to take an interest in science and to support the scientific passions they are already developing.

The competition is open to pupils and students aged between 14 and 21 who will not have completed their first semester of university by the time of the finals. The submitted theoretical or experimental works may have a maximum of three authors and must have been created before all members of the team entered university.
