The University of Bialystok on September 10-12, 2018, is organizing the largest phraseological conference in the world, EUROPHRAS. Nearly 200 researchers from around the world will take part in it.

According to Katarzyna Dziedzik, a spokesman of the University of Bialystok, the conference will be attended by phraseologists from 37 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, South Africa, Switzerland, Greece, Georgia, Croatia, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy, Finland, Germany and Russia.

The meeting is devoted to constant expressive connections, first of all phraseologies, proverbs and winged words. They are presented in various perspectives, for example contrastive, translational, lexicographical and didactic perspectives. The discussed issues concern the theoretical aspects of phraseology and the practical use of fixed word combinations, for example in advertising texts.
