The Faculty of Economics, Management and Tourism in Jelenia Góra within the University of Economics in Wroclaw received the title of “Meritorious for the city of Jelenia Góra” and “the Golden Honorary Badge of Merit for the Lower Silesian Voivodship”.

The justification stressed that the activities of the Faculty for Lower Silesia were visible from the very beginning of the university’s history. Academic and didactic staff, being members of numerous expert teams appointed by state bodies or institutions, carry out activities for Lower Silesia related to with development of development strategies for communes and cities of the region, special programs for Lower Silesian enterprises, local revitalization programs for cities and communes, and project feasibility studies. The research results of the Faculty’s teaching staff are used in Lower Silesia’s economic and social reality.
