Seven female researchers from institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) received grants within the Small Grant Scheme competition of the National Center for Research and Development (NCBiR) funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. They will conduct works on new materials for orthopedic implants, the composition of drug-resistant bacteriophages and the effects of climate change on arctic rivers.
The Small Grant Scheme 2020 NCBiR competition was addressed to women conducting scientific research in technical fields. The Commission awarded funding to 27 female researchers for basic, industrial and application development research.
Seven grants were received by researchers from the Polish Academy of Sciences from the Institute of High Pressure Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, the System Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
