A finance and stock market laboratory has opened at the Koszalin University of Technology. Students will experience the new space as if they were on a stock exchange trading floor. The laboratory is reminiscent of a professional stockbroker’s office and a financial analyst’s studio.
There are 21 computer workstations, equipped with dual monitors and computer sets, located on an area of approximately 80 square metres. The laboratory has been equipped with an air-conditioning unit, lighting, blackout blinds and ergonomic chairs. There are clocks indicating the time in the cities where the world’s largest stock exchanges operate, a bell starting the session and an image of a bull and a bear, i.e. the symbols of a stock market boom and bust.
In addition to access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, students have access to specialised financial software and databases. The total value of the project, including: adaptation of the room, purchase of equipment, computer hardware and software, amounted to nearly PLN 500 thousand.
