The Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service (PSP) in Kielce and the Kielce University of Technology (PŚk) in Kielce have signed a cooperation agreement. Among other things, the agreement provides for the education of students and employees in firefighting knowledge.
“We are planning to improve skills and knowledge regarding fire safety at the university. We also want to carry out research on these issues”, says Prof. Zbigniew Koruba, Rector of PŚk.
“We want to take advantage of the possibilities offered by, for example, the Mars rovers and show how such devices can be adapted to rescue and firefighting operations. We are also interested in the construction experience that university employees undoubtedly have. Perhaps we will be able to work out solutions that will reduce the threat of carbon monoxide emitted during a fire”, emphasises Chief Superintendent Krzysztof Ciosek – the Regional Commander of the State Fire Service in Kielce.
Joint educational and informational actions aimed at the academic community are also planned. Both sides hope that the cooperation will contribute to raising the level of safety of the region’s inhabitants.
