On 24th April Center for Popularization of Science of the Silesian University of Technology (CPN) invites participants to the Student Club Spirala on the First Silesian Stand Up. Eight scientists from the Silesian University of Technology, the University of Silesia and the Institute of Oncology in Gliwice will perform scientific stand ups.

– Such events are organized in the world, in Poland the scientific stand up is just beginning to function in the awareness of popularisers. It requires not only a sense of humor, but also a great courage and distance to yourself. Can Silesian scientists do it? Let’s check it out!- says Prof. Aleksandra Ziembińska-Buczyńska, director of CPN.

The First Silesian Stand up in Science invited Dariusz Aksamit from the Faculty of Physics at Warsaw University of Technology, the winner of this year’s Promotor of the Year award in the Animator category. The event will be hosted by Antoni Syrek-Dąbrowski – comedian, improviser and screenwriter from Stand Up Polska.
