An interdisciplinary team of scientists from the University of Warsaw (UW), the Humboldt University in Berlin, the London School of Economics, the University of Amsterdam and the Pompeu Fabra University is researching the impact of national and EU anti- pandemic strategies on eurosceptic attitudes, European solidarity and the results of eurosceptic parties. The consortium consists of researchers representing political science, sociology and economics.
Prof. Michał Krawczyk from the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the University of Warsaw is responsible for research on the impact of fake news on the attitude towards the European Union, especially in a crisis such as the coronavirus pandemic.
-There is now a lot of false information on the internet about the pandemic. Some of them concern the European Union – the European Union’s response or lack of response to the coronavirus pandemic. With the help of computer tools, including artificial intelligence, we will find and analyze fake news on the Internet. We will examine their sources, ranges, and then use this material for field experiments conducted with the use of social media – says Prof. Michał Krawczyk.
