Polish PhD student heads the European Council of Doctoral Students and Young Scientists

Agnieszka Żyra, a PhD student from the Krakow University of Technology (PK), was elected president of the European Council of Doctoral Students and Young Scientists (EURODOC) in the term of office 2021/2022. 

EURODOC based in Brussels is an international federation operating since 2005. It brings together doctoral students and young scientists from countries belonging to the European Union and the Council of Europe. The organization represents the interests of young scientists in education, research and professional development.

EURODOC monitors the situation of early-stage researchers in terms of mobility, working conditions, employment opportunities and career choice, and works to improve doctoral and higher education programs in Europe.

Agnieszka Żyra has been involved in doctoral activities at the university on national and international levels for several years. In the 2020/2021 term, she was the secretary of the EURODOC Management Board.
