The Flying University of Roads (LUD) is an informal organization created in 2018 by researchers from the Lublin University of Technology and the Białystok University of Technology, aimed at exchanging and transferring scientific and practical experience in the field of road construction. LUD is mainly focused on educational and research activities.

From October 17, 2019, 30 students from the “Drogowiec” Scientific Club of the Bialystok University of Technology and the Road and Science Association of the Lublin University of Technology have been participated in workshops of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Lublin University of Technology. During the course, students will learn the latest methods of testing asphalt and asphalt mixtures, technical and operational parameters of road surfaces, analyze vehicle traffic and road noise, road costs as well as deepen their knowledge about trends in calming traffic.

– In the specialists’ environment, there has not yet been an idea on how to interest young people in this field. We hope that the Flying University of Roads will change that – said Dr Eng. Marta Wasilewska, originator and co-organizer of the University, employee of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Bialystok University of Technology.
