The Japanese government awarded the Order of the Rising Sun – Golden Rays with Ribbon to Prof. Wojciech Nowak, the rector of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow in 2012-2020.

“Professor Wojciech Nowak, as the rector of the Jagiellonian University, was actively involved in the development of scientific cooperation with Japanese universities. During his tenure, contracts were signed with 16 universities across Japan. The cooperation with Kobe University is particularly fruitful that allowed to create the School of Japanese Law and Culture at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University”, informed the Japanese Embassy in Poland.

The Japanese Embassy in Poland would like to congratulate Professor Wojciech Nowak for his many years of work. It also expresses the hope that the bonds of friendship he had initiated will contribute to the further development of Polish-Japanese relations.
