On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) was awarded the Medal of the Warsaw Scientific Society for its significant contribution to strengthening the well-being of science in Poland and the academic position of people who make up the scientific community in Poland.
The FNP has existed since 1991 and is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental institution that supports outstanding scientists and research teams. It contributes to transfer scientific achievements to economic practice.
In the justification of awarding the Medal of the Warsaw Scientific Society, the jury emphasized that it is “a recognition for outstanding services and many years of effort in shaping the quality of the Polish scientific community, in line with the saying “support the best so that they can become even better”.
The Warsaw Scientific Society is one of the oldest scientific societies in Poland, the follower of the Warsaw Friends of Sciences Society founded in 1800 and the precursor of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
