The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) is organizing an expert debate within the program “Let’s trust science” on July 29, 2021. In the discussion “Does the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine work for us? How to check?” will be attended by immunologists: Prof. Danuta Gutowska-Owsiak, Prof. Piotr Trzonkowski and virologist – Prof. Krzysztof Pyrć.

The debate will focus on the most important issues related to the immune system’s response to the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. What are the mechanisms of the immune response? How do we know if our immune system has responded to the vaccine? Does the response to the vaccine depend on age, gender, overweight, race, or co-morbidities? Why do some people belong to the ‘non-responders’ group?

Experts will also tell participants about the latest research results on the effectiveness of the vaccine against new variants of the coronavirus.

The meeting will be conducted by Prof. Maciej Żylicz, biochemist, molecular biologist, president of the FNP and Krzysztof Michalski.
