Gdańsk University of Technology was classified for the second time in the Academic Ranking of World Universities, i.e. the Shanghai ranking, which is considered to be the most prestigious ranking of universities in the world. The university maintained its position in the ninth hundred.
The Shanghai Ranking evaluates universities using data on Nobel laureates and the Fields Medal, top-cited papers, articles published in Nature and Science, and data from the Science Citation Index-Expanded and Social Science Citation Index (Clarivate Analytics) databases. Every year, it classifies over 2,000. universities and publishes a list of over a thousand best ones.
Gdańsk University of Technology in this year’s ranking maintained its position in the range of 801-900. Among 10 Polish universities, it obtained the highest score (13.1 points) for the PCP index for the second time (i.e. for the weighted result of the remaining five indicators divided by the number of full-time researchers).
