Scientists from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Automation and Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environment at the Gdańsk University of Technology participate in a research and development project of the innovative method for determining the precise trajectory of a rail vehicle.
Within its framework, a reliable and precise method for determining the axis of the railway track will be developed using the mobile satellite measurement method, in order to record the geometrical shape of railway lines in the public reference system PUWG2000.
Precise identification of railway track axes creates a number of possibilities related to the use of digital data on the location of tracks and accompanying engineering structures. The project implemented by a consortium of the Gdańsk University of Technology and the Maritime University in Gdynia received funding under the BRIK program – Research and Development in Railway Infrastructure.
