The state-of-the-art STOS Competence Center (Smart and Transdisciplinary knOwledge Services) will be built on the campus of the Gdańsk University of Technology. It will act as a multidisciplinary data collection and processing center.
– This is the largest investment in the post-war history of the Gdańsk University of Technology. In the second quarter of 2022, the facility will be ready for use, and our students will be able to see the performance of modern systems supporting the operation of servers in the next academic year – says the chancellor of the Gdańsk University of Technology, Mariusz Miler.
The main element of the Center will be a server room equipped with advanced IT infrastructure, including a supercomputer. Ultimately, the device will have one of the highest computing powers in this part of Europe, which will enable complex simulations and the transfer, processing and archiving of huge data sets.
