The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways decided on the third competition of Innovations in Road Engineering. The objective of the competition was to select the best diploma theses, whose results can be applied to road construction. 

In the Road Materials and Technologies category, the 1st place was won by Mikołaj Jonik from the Gdańsk University of Technology for his thesis ‘Analysis of physical and mechanical properties of deep recycling mixes stabilised by hydraulic binders with new generation additives’.

In the Traffic Engineering category, the winner was Maciej Wójcik of the Warsaw University of Technology, author of the paper ‘Analysis of the impact of the construction of expressways on the development of local bus transport’.

In the category Road Engineering Objects, 1st place was awarded to Jan Szymon Chmieliński and Mikołaj Mirosław Jemielniak from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków for their thesis ‘Analysis of the stability of a road tunnel portal in conditions of the Carpathian flysch’.
