Bartosz Dereń, a graduate of the Opole University of Technology has created a mobile application for recognizing mushrooms based on a photo. His excellent engineering thesis was created at the faculty of electrical engineering, automation and computer science.

Bartosz was already writing applications during his studies (among others, he co-created the application of the university’s Radio Emiter), but Sprawdź Grzyba (Check a mushroom) is his first, so serious application.

– I was a bit afraid but I managed! I am such a person that I am almost never completely satisfied with my ideas, I will always find something that I could do better, but I think the application works quite well – says the innovator.

For mycological identification, the creator used artificial intelligence and funny graphics. The application does not require parameters of the best telephones. All you need is Android 5, camera and internet, because the application works in so-called client-server system.
