Wojciech Hańderek, a graduate of the mechanical and technological department of the Silesian University of Technology became the winner of the Siemens Award competition in the automation and robotics category. He was awarded for his MA thesis “Cyberattack detection system on industrial control systems”.
Only works related to the scope of Siemens activities are submitted to the competition. The jury selected the best works that have a chance to be implemented and used in practice. The Wojciech Hańderek’s awarded work is an attempt to develop a technology that can ensure safe access to industrial installations from anywhere in the world.
– The system that I have developed is the last line of defense against a cybercriminal and will work even if all security is broken. I feel honored by the awards and I am very proud, especially that the award will also contribute to the enrichment of the equipment of the laboratories of the Silesian University of Technology – said the laureate.
