Martyna Bildziukiewicz, a graduate of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Gdańsk, became the head of the EU group for combating Russian disinformation – East Stratcom Task Force. A special group operates within the framework of the European External Action Service, the EU’s diplomatic corps.
The East Stratcom Task Force monitors the media and picks up examples of Russian disinformation in the member states, then corrects and presents reliable news. The group also deals with disinformation analysis and education, as well as media support and strategic communication in the East.
The activities of the group are now of key importance due to the growing propaganda and disinformation by the Kremlin targeted at the member states and EU institutions. Martyna Bildziukiewicz has been working there since 2018. In the past, she was one of the spokespersons of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union in Brussels.
