Dr Natalia Ratajczak-Szponik from Wrocław University of Science and Technology won the second prize in the competition organized by the National Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons. The jury appreciated her doctoral dissertation on the adaptation of Polish schools to the needs of children with disabilities.
Dr Natalia Ratajczak-Szponik emphasizes that modern schools must undergo many changes in connection with the new model of educating children with disabilities. Through the inclusive education system and the ‘inclusive’ education model, students who are less physically fit, with sensory and intellectual limitations and with emotional disorders no longer have to study in separate special institutions, but have the opportunity to choose different forms of education.
The competition awards master’s and doctoral dissertations as well as research club projects related to the subject of disability. The organizers are encouraging people to look for innovative solutions that have an impact on the better functioning of people with disabilities.
